10 Best Free AI Image Generators 2024

The following list of the Top 10 Free AI Image Generators was created after weeks of research, testing, and use of multiple art generators! These instruments can also be considered to be the top alternatives for Midjourney. Let us examine their offerings!

Here is the PDF of the 10 Best Free AI Image Generators 2024

1. Bing Image Creator

Microsoft launched Bing Image Creator, an AI platform for creating art, in March 2023. It uses a more sophisticated form of Dall-E technology to produce realistic images from text prompts. The image quality of Bing Image Creator has been improved since the latest Dall-E 3 update. It even has the ability to create logos via text prompts.

You can visit the Bing Image Creator and log in with your Microsoft account to get started. After that, you can type in any prompt to have several photos created in a grid arrangement. It also enables downloading, saving, and sharing of them.

Bing Image Creator's refined and excellent images, together with its infinite image production capabilities, are its greatest features. Every day, you receive 100 image credits. After these credits expire, you can continue create photos, but at a slower pace. But since the most recent Dall.E 3 version, all image production is typically delayed.

All in all, I was really pleased with the level of artwork generated by Bing Image Creator. Its visual quality is superior to Dall-E, in my opinion.

2. Leonardo AI

Operating on several refined image generating models, Leonardo AI is a unique AI image generator. It enables you to quickly produce beautiful patterns and images. Leonardo improves the whole design experience for its users with a cutting-edge and incredibly responsive user interface.

You can choose an AI model, an image style, and add a negative prompt to remove particular features after you sign up for its free plan. Leonardo also provides up to 1000 AI-generated suggestions in case you require assistance with generating the prompts!

Leonardo AI's Prompt Magic V3 and Alchemy features are unique features. Although these are AI models in beta testing, the images they generate are of the highest quality and perfectly suited to the prompts. Enabling these features will increase your token consumption substantially, but the quality you get is well worth it!

The Prompt Magic V3 and Alchemy features of Leonardo AI are special features. The visuals these AI models produce are of the greatest caliber and precisely tailored to the prompts, despite the fact that they are still in beta testing. Your token usage will significantly increase if you enable these features, but the quality is definitely worth it!

3. Recraft AI

Using generative AI, Recraft is a professional image generator. It enables you to create consistent-looking, high-quality graphics, vector art, icons, illustrations, 3D images, and more.

You must first decide whether you want to generate a raster image, vector image, or image set using Recraft. After that, you have the option to compose your image prompt, indicate negative prompts, select the image style, define layer and backdrop colors, or select from pre-made palettes.

I was really impressed with the image's quality and Recraft AI's quick response. Nevertheless, I was unable to locate a method to view the remaining and utilized image credits in my account.

Recraft provides more capabilities than just image generation, such as image vectorizer, color adjustment, and background removal. I really liked that Recraft's free plan allowed you to utilize the created photos for business without having to pay more.

Recraft's free plan allows for 5000 AI requests each month. For $20 per month, you can upgrade to its subscription account for unlimited AI requests and faster image generation.

4. Freepik

With the help of Freepik Image Generator, you can turn your concepts into visually appealing illustrations and images. To begin, enter your image prompt and choose the mode, size, and quantity of images you require in the final result.

Still, that's not all! Freepik goes one step further by giving you the option to choose from a variety of lighting, framing, color schemes, and styles. I adored the images that this tool generated. They were really well-made, luxurious, and exemplary in their adherence to the prompt!

In addition, Freepik offers an AI Sketch to Image Generator that lets you enter a prompt and then create a simple sketch of your desired image. It lets you adjust the slider bar's imagination percentage. Even with the mediocre results, it still performs fairly well.

You receive 20 credits each day for image generation with Freepik's free plan. You can upgrade to its premium plan for $7.20/month (annually) if you want unlimited AI image production.

5. Stylar AI

AI-powered Stylar AI is a graphic design and photo editing assistance. It makes use of AI technology for text effects, logo creation, art generation, photo editing, and photo filtering, among other things.

You can enter your prompt, choose a negative prompt, and an image style to get started with Stylar. For example, they have several categories for scene design, illustration, logo, portrait, interior design, tattoo design, and so on. By default, it produces 4 output images.

I was pleased with the Stylar-generated photographs' quality. They are orderly and precisely adhere to the entry prompts. Stylar AI's free plan provides 200 AI credits every day. For $8 a month, you can upgrade to its Standard plan and receive 2000 AI credits each month.

6. Clipdrop

Clipdrop is an AI-driven tool for creating and altering images. It provides a strong picture creation tool called SDXL Turbo by utilizing Stability AI. Compared to Midjourney and Dall.E 3, it is far faster and more powerful. What makes Clipdrop unique? You can observe how images are created in real-time right here!

This implies that the image will continuously update and change as long as you type your prompt! This struck me as really awesome!

To use the sophisticated tools for creating images, you have to upgrade to its Pro plan. In addition, it provides other useful tools for free, such as the ability to easily edit images with the background remover, uncrop, relight, cleaner, image upscaler, and other tools.

7. Bluewillow

In January 2023, BlueWillow, an AI art generator, was established. Several image generation models, such as Dall-E and Stable Diffusion, are used to produce artistic and realistic images.

You must join any Rookie channel on BlueWillow's Discord server in order to use it. After that, you can add your description and the prompt "/imagine." It will produce AI photos that are relevant to your query. Additionally, you may use the grid to upscale or create variations for any image.

BlueWillow's unlimited image generation sets it apart from other AI art generators! It appears to be the ideal free and unlimited substitute for Midjourney as a result!

8. Adobe Firefly

Adobe offers a generative AI model called Firefly. With the aid of this potent image production tool, you may produce original and imaginative AI graphics for nothing. It is currently in the beta stage.

An Adobe account is required in order to use Firefly. There are other parameters you can adjust when you enter your text prompt. For example, you can adjust the aspect ratio, lighting, composition, style, color and tone, and content type (photo, art, graphic).

The created photos are shown as a grid, and you can save or create comparable images for each one. They haven't yet set any restrictions on the creation of AI images.

Overall, I was rather impressed with the outputs' fine details and picture quality. Of course, you ought to give it a shot!

9. Dream by WOMBO

Another similar tool to generate AI art and images is Dream by Wombo. It makes use of CLIP and VQGAN, two AI neural networks. AI images produced by VQGAN are similar to other images that it has been trained on. Additionally, CLIP determines if a text input is appropriate for an image.

When combined, these two AI technologies enable the creation of instantaneous images and photos in response to your text commands.

You can create a free account and type your prompts in the search field to begin using Dream. After that, you can create unique images by choosing from a variety of image styles.

It generates images with the 9:16 aspect ratio, or the size of a mobile image. Additionally, it offers an iPhone and Android mobile app.

Dream has a feature that I truly enjoyed it allows for an infinite generation of images. There are certain limitations, though, such as the inability to access premium art styles and the ability to only generate one image at a time. Its output quality was pretty good, in my opinion.

At $9.99 a month, their premium plans are reasonably priced. Lifetime discounts are not often offered by AI image generators, but Dream offers them! It's fantastic that it provides its services for a lifetime at $169.99!

10. Craiyon

Boris Dayma developed the AI model Craiyon in 2022. With the help of text inputs, it creates original AI graphics for you. Craiyon received his training on the Google PU Research Cloud which was formerly known as Dall-E Mini.

Crayon provides many possibilities to generate images! It can be used without even requiring you to create an account.  Entering a text prompt and selecting whether to generate an art, drawing, or photo is all that is required. It will create an image grid of 3 by 3.

One interesting part of Craiyon is that it allows you to define negative prompt as well. If you do not want the AI to incorporate these aspects into your image.

But I thought the generated images were inaccurate as well, and the output quality was really mediocre. I wasn't too fond of it, although it might be useful in some situations. Considering that it has an infinite number of images, you should give it a try.

11. Canva Text to Image

I am not able to leave this off my list because, as we all know, Canva's free plan is quite helpful for designing.

You may create a variety of assets with Canva, a well-known online graphic design tool, including social media posts, videos, banners, logos, advertisements, resumes, and more.

Several AI features, such as their AI image generator that utilizes the Stable Diffusion model, were just released.

You must create a free account on Canva to get started. The Text to Image tool is located in the Apps section.

Conclusion

These thus were a few of my top picks for AI image generators that could serve as alternatives for Midjourney. My personal favorites are Bing Image Creator, BlueWillow, Recraft, and Leonardo AI. I make frequent use of them in my work.

AI Image Generators might be a useful tool for anyone working in the creative sector. This covers a variety of activities such as blogging, social media marketing, publishing, animation, graphic design, photography, and content creation.
